Bradford produced the goods once again from the penalty spot to win for a ninth successive shootout, pulling off a huge upset to beat Arsenal in the Capital One Cup Quarter Final.

An early goal from Garry Thompson (16) stunned Arsenal to give Bradford the lead, which was taken into the interval.

Arsenal pushed for an equaliser but looked set to be on the end of a shock one-nil defeat in 90-minutes, that was until the dying minutes when Thomas Vermaelen (88) drew the Premier League side level at the death to send the game into extra time.

Penalties were something that Arsene Wenger said he wanted to avoid, however without a further breakthrough the game ended in a 1-1 draw and that mean shootout time.

First up was Nathan Doyle, he scored Arsenal then missed their first two through Santi Cazorla (Matt Duke saved) and Marouane Chamakh (who hit a post), sandwiched between was a successful Gary Jones penalty.

Wojciech Szczesny then saved Stephen Darby’s penalty with Jack Wilshere giving Arsenal hope but Alan Connell made it 3-1, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored next for Arsenal to bring them back into the game.

Ritchie Jones’ penalty saved by Szczesny meant Arsenal had to score but Vermaelen missed to see The Bantams advance 3-2 on penalties and take their place in the semi finals of the League Cup!
