There’s long been the hope that a Premier League side would come knocking for Leeds United’s talented midfielder Fabian Delph. But it looked like Ken Bates was placing a figure on the player’s head that meant he was likely to be starting the season at Elland Road.

But with the close of the transfer window looming it’s emerged today that Villa have put pen to paper and the Bradford born youngster will be starting the season in the Midlands for a figure reported to be around £8m.

The result of such a significant transfer fee is that the Bantams are looking at a 12% sell-on fee. What will we be spending it on?

All eyes will be glued to Stuart McCall to see what he does with the healthier bank balance around Manningham. Perhaps he’ll use it now or sit on it until January or maybe even next season. Either way it will hopefullly be to our benefit.

What do you think we should use the money for? Come and join the discussion on the Vital Bradford forum…
