Rhys Evans – 6
Didn`t really have a thing to do apart from pick the ball out of the net. He made a couple of good saves from long-range efforts but Luton were toothless in attack

Simon Ainge – 7
I was very impressed by Ainge`s movement up and down the right flank as well as his support to Joe Colbeck and his all round defensive play. Seemed to be ignored during the early stages of the first half as Lee and Clarke looked for champagne passes.

Graeme Lee – 5
First half was just dreadful and the second half wasn`t a great deal better for the captain. Someone failed to pick up the goalscorer and it`s either Lee or Clarke

Matt Clarke – 5
Apparently this week the players were mostly planning on making Matt Clarke a playmaker. It was a bad tactic and ruined the first 45 minutes of ‘entertainment`. Involved in the debacle that saw Heck receive his second yellow card which does nothing to suggest his place in the side is set in stone.

Paul Heckingbottom – 5
I`m not penalising him for getting sent off, but his overall performance was shaky to say the least.

Omar Daley – 7
At his frustrating best. Brilliant at times, unwilling to do any thinking off the ball at others. Suffered a little from greediness but pitched in at the back and could have been the difference between the two sides

Dean Furman – 7
It`s embarrassing when your loan players want it more than your permanent staff. And in the first half this was too true. In the second half he was the solution to the missing link between defence and attack we suffered in the first half.

Paul McLaren – 6
Couple of stinging shots from long range and some good passing but I`m sure a disappointing afternoon by McLaren`s standards. A lot of that was to do with the suicidal passes some of his team mates were making

Joe Colbeck – 6
At times it looked like Joe was going to put in an impressive afternoon but at others he was far, far, far, far too greedy and ended up turning great opportunities into worrying defensive moments.

Michael Boulding – 6
If he had the ball he was a threat, unfortunately we didn`t get him the ball often enough. His movement and positioning was great but didn`t really get the opportunity to do anything from it.

Peter Thorne – 6
Similar story for Thorney, no clear cut opportunities. Again he didn`t score, and again we didn`t win.

Barry Conlon (for Michael Boulding) – 7
What do you do if you are welcomed onto the pitch by booing? Score a goal and suddenly the same people are chanting your name. Unlucky not to have been the super-sub hero but could have had two were it not for connecting too well and blasting it straight at the keeper

Luke O`Brien (for Peter Thorne) – 6
Backed off, and then backed off some more, and then backed off so he was pretty much out of play to allow the cross that provided the goal. Bizarrely not brought on straight away after Heckingbottom`s sending off but will hope to use that suspension to his advantage in the coming games.
