Bradford have lost the services of loanee Mason Bennett, after his parent club recalled him.

The talented Derby County forward was due to remain at Valley Parade until January but he’s been recalled by Steve McClaren with immediate effect so Phil Parkinson will now have to make do with what he’s got or look to go back into the loan market to bring in another forward?

Bennett, who scored once for us in 13-appearnace, is expected to go straight into the Derby squad, maybe even the starting XI, for the game against championship promotion rivals Ready this weekend.

The writing has possibly been on the wall for such a scenario as Bennett recently returned to Derby for a brief spell of training recently before coming back to the Bantams and continuing to play a role for us.

With the benefit of hindsight that proves something of an insight into what was to follow…
