Highly-rated Sunderland ‘keeper Jordan Pickford has joined Bradford on a season-long loan.

Phil Parkinson has been on the lookout for another ‘keeper this summer and has now found one by bringing in Pickford, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Carlisle United at the end of last season.

It was successful in as much as he kept seven cleansheets in eight first-team appearances but it was unsuccessful in the respect that he wasn’t able to prevent them from being relegated from league 1….

At 20 Pickford still has, by far, his best years ahead of him but such is his reputation at the Stadium of Light he signed a new four-year contract with the premier league side just last month with him believed to be the long-term first choice ‘keeper at Sunderland.

Pickford has picked up plenty of first-team experience already during loan spell with Darlington, Alfreton Town and Burton Albion in recent years with him now looking to add to this at Valley Parade.
