Gary Liddle was previously given a chance to sign for Bradford, but that wasn’t taken. He did become a Bradford player on Monday though.

The former Notts County midfielder, who turned down a new deal with the Bantams’ league 1 rivals, signed a one-year contract with the option of a second-year to become a Bradford player a couple of years after first being approached by Phil Parkinson.

Parkinson, having been knocked back previously by the midfielder, might have gone elsewhere but with him the type of player he was after he didn’t hesitate in moving for him with him another ‘good addition to the squad’ that he’s putting in place for next season.

The Bradford boss told the official website: ‘I’m delighted with the arrival of Gary.

‘He is a great professional, a good character, and a very versatile player. I feel he is going to be an important signing for us.

‘We are still piecing things together for the new season, but Gary is another good addition to the squad.’
